Dare2Share 2010

For the third year in a row the Manwells and the group of Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit hosted a group of youth from Pineview Mennonite Church in Vassar, Michigan for the Dare2Share Youth Conference on Friday, March 19th and Saturday, March 20th. Dare2Share is a non-denominational two day program for Christian youths including skits, concerts, encouragement, and fellowship. The goal is to show Christian teens that they are not alone and to encourage them to “dare” to share their faith with others. Dare2Share has yearly events all over the USA. During these two days the late evenings and early mornings get a bit crowded around the Manwell house: this year’s group included 12 teens and 3 adults — but it’s safe to say a good time was had by all! More importantly, everyone agreed that the conference and activities were spiritually uplifting and faith-strengthening. Pineview’s group and guests were led by Nick Seney and adult chaperones Gary & Dorothy. LCHS’s youth were led by Mike Govert & John Piccoli.

Feed My Starving Children – May 2015

Photos from Holy Spirit’s most recent attendance at Feed My Starving Children. This was also a ‘servant activity’ for the 2014-2015 Confirmation year. Pastor Manwell’s entire confirmation class and parents were a part of this event. The evening concluded with pizza at the church.

McDonald’s McHappy Week P4P Volunteers

P4P Operation World Christmas was amazing! November 15th started early for P4P. A team of McDonald’s employees arrived at 9am to help setup for P4P packing night. The McDonald’s team led by Sheila Young setup our tables and brought out every item from our storage area. They organized the magazines and grouped items into sections so that our packers would not need to search out items while packing. Then the team gift wrapped at least a hundred small items and bagged Christmas cards for the soldiers to send to their families. The McHappy P4P Team gave Operation World Christmas a boost!
